Important Announcement:
Transition of the Healing and CPTSD Community Hub

The Healing and CPTSD Foundation is excited to announce a significant update to how we operate in order to better serve survivors of complex trauma.

Starting January 1, 2025, the Healing and CPTSD Community Hub will transition to the Healing & CPTSD LLC.

This decision comes after careful legal review and approval by our Board of Directors, ensuring compliance with nonprofit laws while strengthening the missions of both the Foundation and the Community Hub.

Why Is This Transition Happening?

Ensuring Legal Compliance
Since its inception, the Community Hub has benefited from promotion via the Healing and CPTSD Instagram account, owned by the LLC. While this approach was initially approved by our legal counsel, our new legal team highlighted that having the “community” split between two entities—such as the Instagram under the LLC and the hub under the nonprofit—could cause public confusion. To ensure clarity and maintain a clear distinction between the two organizations, we are proactively transitioning the community hub to the LLC. This decision reflects our commitment to transparency and the integrity of both entities.

Operational Freedom
As part of the nonprofit, the hub has faced restrictions, such as limitations on political discussions and the promotion of member businesses. Transitioning the hub to the LLC allows it to maintain its mission of open dialogue, connection, and support for trauma survivors.

  1. Sharpened Focus for the Foundation
This transition allows the Foundation to dedicate its resources to advocacy and financial assistance programs, including:

  • Leading efforts to gain CPTSD recognition in the DSM.

  • Advocating for trauma-informed policies in healthcare, law enforcement, and education.

  • Providing healing grants for therapy, rent, and utilities to survivors of complex trauma.

What Does This Mean for Members of the Community Hub?

Members of the community hub will continue to enjoy uninterrupted access to the same resources, events, and support they have come to rely on. Under the LLC, the hub will operate with greater flexibility and freedom to fulfill its mission of fostering connection and healing.

How Will Donor Contributions Be Handled?

All donor contributions made to the Healing and CPTSD Foundation remain with the nonprofit. These funds will continue to support the Foundation’s advocacy and financial assistance programs. The LLC will not receive any donor funds.

Additionally:

  • Membership revenue generated while the hub was under the nonprofit will remain with the Foundation.

  • The LLC will reimburse the Foundation for all setup costs associated with the hub.

A Shared Commitment to Survivors

While the Foundation and LLC will operate independently, they remain deeply aligned in their mission to support survivors of complex trauma. The LLC will continue to promote the Foundation’s advocacy campaigns and healing grants, amplifying their impact.
