CPTSD AWARENESS MONTH

Every September,
We Come Together to Bring Complex PTSD Into the Light.

Complex PTSD isn't rare. It's just rarely recognized.

Each September, individuals, organizations, professionals, and survivors around the world come together to increase awareness, challenge stigma, and advocate for the recognition of Complex PTSD.

Led by The Healing and CPTSD Foundation, CPTSD Awareness Month is a month-long movement dedicated to education, survivor voices, research, advocacy, and meaningful systems change.

September matters—but the work continues all year long.

Why CPTSD Awareness Month Matters

Millions of people live with the effects of prolonged, repeated trauma.

Yet despite growing international recognition, Complex PTSD is still not recognized as a separate diagnosis in the DSM, contributing to ongoing barriers in awareness, education, diagnosis, research, and support throughout the United States.

Awareness is about more than sharing information.

It is about helping survivors feel seen, educating professionals, informing communities, and creating the momentum needed for lasting change.
