
Florinda Flores-Brown
Florinda Flores-Brown is a Xicana/Boricua writer, storyteller, and nonprofit leader. Her professional experience includes five years as a public school educator, three years as a college instructor, and eight years as a nonprofit program director. She has previously served on the advisory board for Trinity University’s Philosophy & Literature Circle,
which provides humanities-based learning communities for incarcerated persons. She has also evaluated grants for local, state, and national organizations and occasionallyconsults on program design.
As a trauma survivor who is four years into her healing story, Florinda’s leadership,professionalism, and creative work is grounded in trauma-centered principles. Whethershe is building programs or crafting stories, she draws on an understanding of trauma’s impact to create work that is empathetic, transformative, and rooted in healing.
